Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship (FGBCF)

Background

On May 1, 1996, Roney Smith accepted the fact that he was chosen to lovingly spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus and has been working as a humble servant for the kingdom of God. In October 1997, Roney was chosen to become the Youth Pastor at New Fellowship of Praise Baptist Church in Atlanta. God has given and prepared Roney for a greater mission which is to pastor believers seeking to find and fulfill their purpose during their lifetime of living on earth.

The Initial Victory and Counterattack

On May 19, 1998, Pastor Smith was informed that the legal battle against Cobb County's policies of not allowing religious organizations to use county facilities such as community centers and library auditoriums had been won.

The very next day the mother of Sister Wyteria Smith was hospitalized and a week later upon her release from the hospital, the mother of Pastor Smith was hospitalized.

The turmoil and travel to South Carolina every other day for almost a month provided the opportunity for Pastor and Sister Smith to consider moving back to South Carolina. But a Word from God came that it really did not matter.

It Really Does Not Matter

Upon asking God whether or not the family should move or stay, the Holy Spirit told Pastor Smith "It really does not matter". Upon asking for wisdom in understanding the statement, Pastor Smith was informed that "it really doesn't matter for I Am with you. You are blessed in the city, blessed in the fields, blessed when you come and when you go, from the rising of the sun until the going down of the same for I Am with you."

Therefore, Pastor and Sister Smith resolved within their spirits not to uproot the seeds that had already been planted and continue to live in Mableton, Georgia. Both mothers returned home and still within the recovering process.  Mother Cereser Smith, Pastor Smith's mother, soon moved to Georgia in July 1999 and later joined Anointed Believers Baptist Church.  She went home to be with the Lord in September 2000.

It was during one of the trips to South Carolina that Pastor Smith completely understood the original vision for Anointed Believers Baptist Church to focus on the family.

The legal battles had indeed become a distraction and the return to the vision began on July 26, 1998 with the prophetic visionary message ""A House Not in Vain"" with Psalm 127 providing the understanding.

Psalm 127 reads as follows:

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3 Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

The Future

1998 marks a new beginning for all of us and as a result of the ministerial training and business development preparation that Roney has received and from witnessing the unmet needs within our immediate community of south Cobb County (state of Georgia in the United States), Rev. Roney and Sister Wyteria Smith as well as other believers such as yourself who hear and are led by the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking within their spirits are quickly coming together as Anointed Believers Baptist Church (ABBC).

The Vision

The vision that has been given to Pastor Smith to lead the effort of establishing ABBC within our immediate community is loud and clear. ABBC will be composed of believers from all cultures and languages (all races, all ages, men, and women alike) as we individually and collectively seek to become servants whose mission is a positive relationship with Christ.

Anointed Believers Baptist Church's mission is to cover, strengthen, and support families worldwide by beginning within the immediate communities of:

Mableton

Austell

Powder Springs

Marietta

Vinings-Smyrna

Cascade-Atlanta

as a Family

The Word of God Being Stood Upon

The Scriptural foundation that we of ABBC are standing upon is Acts 2:44 of the Holy Bible which states, "And all that believed were together, and had all things common". The critical things that are common are the beliefs in Philippians 4:13 which states "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" and John 14:12 which states "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father". Therefore, our collective mission as believers is "Doing All Things and Greater Works in Christ".

In ministering to married and engaged couples as well as single and pre-engaged family-oriented adults, Psalm 127 is the foundation with "A House Not in Vain" as the objective.

The immediate tasks at hand

Instead of launching a fundraising drive to construct a physical building, the vision for ABBC is to focus on the construction of the spiritual building of your soul.

There will be a physical building and location in the near future, but the greater priority is doing the critical things to ensure that the families of husbands and wives(with or without children), single adults who are family-oriented, young children, teenagers are provided for within our community and that the Word of God is deeply understood by believers Word of God is deeply understood by believers and can be effectively shared with anyone at any time.

The initial missions

To accomplish these initial goals, two significant missions must be accomplished.

  • Bible studies within the immediate neighborhood and subdivision of believers such as yourself will take place to make it as easy as possible for you to thoroughly understand the Word of God.
  • Transportation for the youth and small children must be obtained as we open a community development and resource center to be entitled The Love Covenant Community Center.

Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship

Anointed Believers Baptist Church became a part of the growing body of worldwide believers of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship on October 8, 1998.  Pastor Roney Smith became a member (as a pastor) in March 1998.

Pastor Smith became fully aware during the State of Georgia Convention of the FGBCF in April 1999 that his personal and leadership responsibility to both Anointed Believers Baptist Church and FGBCF was simply to learn.

We are looking forward to increasing the standard of excellence demonstrated by FGBCF within the individual and collective ministries given by God to Anointed Believers Baptist Church led by Senior Pastor Roney Smith, the West Central District led by District Overseer C.L. Carter, the State of Georgia led by Bishop Sherman Young, and the entire FGBCF led by Bishop Paul Morton.

We thank the various tiers of leadership for their love expressed to us during our short period of existence and demonstrated within their various vineyards of labor for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We will begin a page of links to the various participating bodies of the FGBCF in the near future.

A mailing list of Brothers and Sisters in Christ from various churches around the world have joined in fellowshipping online within the Full Gospel Baptist Church Online Fellowship.

The FGBC Online Fellowship mailing list may be joined online and you can receive information and news either via a web page or e-mail.
