There are always some people that will attempt to destroy others (in reputation or physical body) in order to gain favor for themselves.
The key to seeing their hearts is to know whether or not you would have destroyed the same person for the same reasons that you are being informed of.
More than likely, you yourself would have been destroyed by this same person who is supposedly doing you a favor if there was someone else in a position of power and influence.
