Christ Jesus is the Greatest Common Denominator

By Roney Smith

The world is now faced with many different denominations with more appearing each day. Most of us either know or have encountered those who belong to the Baptists, Methodist Episcopal, Church of God, Pentecostal, and other denominations. There are some who even describe their denomination as nondenominational whatever that truly means. But when you look at Mark 5:24-34, the various denominations have had the same effect on many people as the various physicians had on the woman had the issue of blood for twelve years.

The woman named Veronica had gone through the various treatments and services of the different physicians without finding any solution. She had spent all of her money and her health deteriorated to find her in a worse situation than she was before. When she heard of Jesus and pushed through the crowd to touch him, Jesus immediately knew that there was a withdrawal of virtue. He told her that her faith had made her whole.

Blood then and now means life. You can’t live without blood in your body. The woman was losing her life as it flowed from her body for twelve years. Jesus is the greatest common denominator which means that only He can make you whole and sustain your life eternally. Jesus did not then nor does He today ever have to practice. He knows what He is doing and He always has an immediate solution. The word denomination has always meant “a part of a larger system”. Mathematics through the teaching of fractions uses denominations and we learned how to find the lowest common denominator in order to get two different fractions (denominations) to converse on the same wavelength or level of understanding. For example, one-half (1/2) and one-third (1/3) cannot ever get along with each other in order to add or subtract until they find 6 as their lowest common denominator. The 6 now means that it is the earliest level of common ground. But none of my math teachers ever taught me what the greatest common denominator would be. I guess that the number or the level would just take too long or be too hard to find out. But through the Holy Spirit, I now realize the Jesus Christ is the Greatest Common Denominator.

By placing my faith in Him and Him alone, I can easily understand and share experiences with those of other denominations. I can now be made whole, but only through Him. Each denomination even in its perfection can only hope to attain a part of what Jesus Christ has to offer. By having the denominator in my life, I don’t have to have only a part of His promises because Jesus is all I need. All I have yet to do is to believe and reach for the level of spiritual maturity that Jesus Christ, who is God wrapped in flesh, demonstrated. To date, I still attend within the Baptist denomination which I grew up in but with a greater level of understanding. You and I have no permanent need for a denomination when we have the Denominator!!!

Volunteers versus Members

RW & A currently does not have members in its present organizational structure. Many people today have too many memberships and not enough leadership is being demonstrated for God and God alone. RW & A will execute various programs with volunteers and perform joint-venture projects with other groups as feasible. Volunteer according to your schedule and lifestyle and as the Holy Spirit leads you. RW & A will never force others to bear any crosses unwillingly.

Do You Feel A Need to Serve Others?

Many talented people today feel a need and hear a calling to serve mankind unselfishly. We have heard the same calling and have been chosen to serve as well. Let us help you serve the world wherever you are and wherever you can have an impact. Our address is RW &A, 5936 Brookside Drive, Suite 203, Mableton, GA 30059 USA.

Do You Know Someone With A Need?

There are many times when we encounter someone who is need and because we have not taken the necessary steps to improve ourselves, we are not in a position to provide assistance. RW & A can help you overcome this and help those who need the help that only people you know or know of can provide. Think about it, how would you feel if you had a loved one that was drowning and you could only stand on the dock and watch in horror because you didn’t learn how to swim when classes were being taught? Help someone today by sending your contributions as well. Call whenever you encounter someone that we can help.

Chosen versus Called

By Roney Smith

Many people have asked me what does it mean to be chosen versus called. The only explanation that can be given is what was given to me by the Holy Spirit. God has called many to do certain things such as being a father, mother, or spouse, but man often has not heeded to God’s voice. For example, God has called many to be men and women, but you and I both see them choosing to be something else. When you are chosen, you feel that there is no choice but to obey and submit yourself to God’s will. You may be called to be a father, but you feel chosen to be a daddy. I was told and understood that the soul of either a loved one or a stranger that I will meet could be saved by only my obedience. If I chose not to listen and obey, then the blood of their soul would be on my hands. Therefore I have no choice but to do His will. To rephrase the words of Paul Harvey, “Now you know the beginning of my story”!!!
